rivals.bio ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your chosen username and a hashed (bcrypt/scrypt) version of your password. We never store passwords in plain text and they are never accessible to us.

Discord integration

If you link your Discord account, we store your Discord user ID and profile image URL. We use this to verify your guild membership and determine role-based entitlements (e.g. Premium). We do not store your Discord email address or direct messages.

Profile content

Any information you add to your public profile — display name, bio, ranks, social handles, tier lists, teammate lists, and custom media URLs — is stored and made publicly accessible at your profile URL.

Usage data

We record an approximate view count per profile using a one-way SHA-256 hash of visitor IP addresses. The raw IP address is never stored. This counter is visible only to you.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and maintain your session.
• To display your public profile at rivals.bio/[username].
• To verify Discord guild roles for premium and badge entitlements.
• To enforce our content policies (e.g. profanity filtering).
• To respond to support requests submitted via Discord tickets.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

• Discord — used for login, role-based entitlements, and community support. Subject to Discord's Privacy Policy.
• Cloud infrastructure — we use third-party cloud providers to host and store data. Standard server logs (including IP addresses and request metadata) may be retained by these providers per their own policies.

4. Cookies & Sessions

We use a single HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax session cookie to keep you signed in. No third-party tracking cookies are set. We do not use analytics scripts or advertising pixels.

5. Data Retention

Your account and profile data are retained for as long as your account exists. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by opening a support ticket on our Discord server. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, open a support ticket via our Discord server.

7. Children

rivals.bio is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us via Discord.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
